Collection of Mill Bobbins, Flanges, Spools of very large size.

 

Each item measue 26 cm high.

Makers mark  Wilson Bros, Pat G1, Made in England.

 

Provinance: Wilson Brothers Bobbin Co of Garston (Liverpool), and Todmorden. The firm was established in 1823. It  once the largest bobbin manufacturer in the world, exporting bobbins internationally. 

 

A collection of four all have fantastic patina from age and use in the mill.  Two have decorative finial flanges and remnants of flakey red paint and even the original colourful silk thread.

 

As a collection they display very well the other two make great pedestals for lamps, taxidermy, plants and flowers and other decorative curios at home or in business or shop window as shown in the last photo.
