Desk Lamp Made in England, patent no: 342705 This beautiful lamp has a very impressive pedigree. One of these exact lamps was used on Winston Churchill's desk when he delivered his BBC VE day speech.
This example is in good original condition for its age and in full working order. It still holds its position and functions as it should.
What we love about this lamp is the engineering of its unusual pivoting mechanism at its base which oscillates the lamp back and forth.
Although I have not been able to trace the manufacturer of these lamps, I have however managed to find the name of the inventor who patented the mechanism. Details of which will be passed on to the new owner.
Fully rewired with period style braided flex & PAT.
