19th Century portrait of a bearded gentleman with very expressive face. 
 
In the manner of Newlyn School works - Circle of Frank Bramley, Stanhope Forbes, Norman Garstin.
 
Further investigation on the painting is required, a signature has  been found on the brack of itsd originasl frame 'John Standard' and thev tile of the painting and sitter 'Grandad Skinner'
 
Particularly pleasing is the colour and carving of the paintings frame.
